“Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.” (Voltaire) In any given day, tens of right decisions need to be made. Having confidence, trust, and belief in your choices is essential. Doubt can potentially debilitate you, but doubt can assist in your decision making process. Doubt can motivate you to understand a problem better and seek out advice, read literature, or use others as a sounding board.

A friend asked me how it felt when I was laid-off and how did I stay positive and confident until I found my new job?
Nothing tests your resolve like being laid-off. A friend, just recently laid-off, and clearly worried, asked me how I stayed positive and confident for 4 months while I found a new job. Some moments I was fearful, scared, and felt worthless. I hated the feeling. It is the same feeling I have when I am learning something new, where I know nothing about the topic. I work harder to understand the topic, until I feel like I know it. I work just as hard overcoming fear and the feeling of worthlessness.
